Provides medical laboratory diagnostic and therapeutic information, products and services by establishing sample preparation procedures; develop and implement analytical procedures; evaluate laboratory information; consult with pathologists; report the results according to the protocols required by the hospital and the public health department.
Maintains the performance of medical laboratory equipment by establishing quality standards; develop operating, quality, and problem-solving procedures; ensure staff compliance; certify the performance of the instrument; arrange for equipment replacement, service, and repair.
Maintains inventory of medical laboratory supplies by checking stocks to determine inventory level; anticipate supplies needed; place and expedite orders for supplies; verify receipt of supplies.
Maintains the productivity of the medical laboratory by monitoring the workload of the functional areas; identify peak and downtime periods; make operational or personnel adjustments.
Maintains quality results by participating in the hospital's quality assurance program; consult with pathologists; conduct proficiency surveys; review quality assurance and control programs; make adjustments in policies and procedures; generate reports; keep records.
Maintains the information system of the medical laboratory by identifying information needs and problems; recommend improvements; Establishing priorities; tests; drafting of user manuals; train employees; maintaining security and confidentiality.
